Johnnie Funderburg Our business presence, our participation, and our partnership in the world of today’s supplier diversity development require strong unified collaborations focused on procurement results. With team support, I believe we can increase opportunities for MBEs to compete and gain success in local and global markets.

I graciously accept and look forward to my service role as GCMSDC President/CEO. Thank you for your support in my previous service roles as Chair and Vice Chair and now President/CEO. I extend gratitude while also embracing the work to be done this year. My focus continues on leveraging the business power of MBEs. I am honored to engage the community, various organizations, and represent the GCMSDC.

Johnnie has worked for the Aviation Department at their Community Outreach Manager, actively fostering M/W/S/DBE inclusion with construction, concessions, and goods and services, along with my previous experience at Maricopa County Public Works and Transportation Departments facilitating the county’s Minority Business Development Program; garners an appreciation and experience for multicultural business development needs and resources.

Johnnie Funderburg’s vast alliances with various local and national organizations along with my 25 years of domestic and international corporate experience; provides vital insight to her service role as President/CEO.

Growing up and working directly in the midst of her family’s small businesses including construction, trucking, sales, rentals and more; she understands small business access to capital needs, leveraging factors and operation strategies linked to the success of minority business. Organizations such as GCMSDC are vital in the consistent support towards minority business empowerment and its economic impact.

Johnnie Funderburg has won several business awards including: Three (3) consecutive years 2006-2008 Board Member of the Year-GCMSDC; 2008 Corporate Advocate of the Year-GCMSDC; 2008 Minority Business Advocate of the Year-Arizona Minority Business Enterprise; 2006 Community Advocate of the Year-Greater Phoenix Black Chamber of Commerce; and honored by the American Indian Chamber of Commerce during their first Annual Award Gala for providing Excellence in Business Diversity Support.

Working side by side with the Board of Directors in providing membership value with team support, I am honored to be the President/CEO of the an organization focused on the success of multicultural businesses by achieving its organizational objectives and delivering strong measurable results.
